Jake For President!

Newly elected 4th grade Student Council member

I was plowed down by a very happy fourth grader today.  After school Jake met me with a big smile and big news.  He was elected for student council for his grade and boy he was more than excited.  The requirements to run for student council was to prepare a short statement of why students should pick you.  Last year Jake ran and lost and was very bummed out, so when the opportunity popped up again he meticulously picked out every word so his campaigning speech would be just right.  After reading it to his dad and I, we all agreed that it needed some pep.  Ben with all his wisdom told Jake that if he really wanted to win he needed to promise to make all their wildest dreams come true.  Jake was very leary of this and thought it would make him sound lame but against his better judgement he thought he'd take a risk.. and he won!  Ben chuckled and grinned when he found out and Jake agreed that the only way he beat out 19 of his classmates was because his classmates bought it, hook line and sinker.  We are proud of our new little councilman!
